The title price is what xe.com say it comes to once the postage of 18.73 Euros is added. Also bare in mind your card company may charge you for the conversion.

Amazon are charging £403.98 and this place wants £275 for a refurb. So even if your card company were to charge £15 (not that they would I don't suppose) it's still a bargain. I remember seeing one of these on QVC ages ago, the freeview was even picked up in the studio!

Customs duty is not payable on goods bought from countries within the EU. However, VAT is payable (if due) either in the EU country of purchase, or in the UK if the EU supplier is UK VAT registered. But, special rules apply to excise goods ie cigarettes, tobacco alcohol etc and these are explained separately.

I just read this and FWIW, this is a very good deal for a quality product. Re questions about customs - as you are in an EC Country and buying from another EC country, customs is not a factor and nor is VAT - the seller will charge VAT at whatever rate prevails in that country. That is their responsibility, not yours.

I won't be buying one as I don't need one - but I am still tempted!!

I bought one of these from QVC, too many wires, too much messing about, poor reception, sent it back!

I've got i suppose what is called the baby brother of this unit the 504 with a 80gig hard drive and think it truly is the daddy of this type of gadget, i've had many of these types of things. My dad owns the av700 and i would say the screen resolution on it is not as good as the 504 or even the newer 604. good price though for the bigger screen, i remember seeing staples in my local (basildon) had one for around the 200.00 mark so it does seem they are coming down.
