Vent at Debenhams

Ok bit !!!! off this morning so thought I'd have a rant. Saw a lovely dress on Debenhams website last weekend so ordered on the Saturday with a gift card. Wesite stated it would be delivered within 4 days so perfect for me as I want it in time for Friday
Phoned them this morning as my order still hasn't changed from "order created" on the tracking on the website. The woman on the phone (who was lovely bless her) basically admitted that there is now no way they can get it to me within the promised 4 days as it's not even been sent to the warehouse for order picking but that they can't do anything about that until close of play tomorrow when it doesn't turn up.
So basically me and Debenhams both know it won's arrive in the promised timescales but until it's actually failed to do so they won't do a damn thing.
What's more as I ordered on a gift card a refund is going to be a pain in the hole as they would have to refund to a gift card and post this out to me so I'm even hanging on like am uppet to get what I paid back for the damn thing

    Bloomin annoying. Do they have an official complaints procedure, like banks do?
  • Ca55ie - They have a head office email address they have given me but to be honest they;re not much help either.
    The plot also now thickens.
    2nd Nov - Dress ordered with promise of delivery within 4 days
    7th Nov - enquiry and complaint made as detailed above
    8th Nov - email received telling me dress was on it's way and will be with me by 12th Nov. Phone Debenhams get told oh no it's definately being refunded.
    Email today - Your dress has now been dispatched !!!! Phone Debenhams - apparantly refund wasn't grated as dress had been dispatched (eh?) but no-one thought to tell me.
    So we're not 10 days after I order the damn thing and I still have no dress and no money. I also have no hope of getting a refund until they deliver the dress. They've told me to refuse the delivery so it goes back to the warehouse but I'm not convinced that they won't suddenly lose it!
