BG - EDF Swap - Couple of questions!
Hi everyone,
We have more or less completed the swap from British Gas to EDF, we are due to go over to EDF on 09.11.2012 - I have logged on to British Gas and my Electricity account has been closed but Gas is still open - is this normal or should I be ringing them? If I dont have to ring them I dont want to as it is an absoloute nightmare!!
I am also in 50+ credit with Gas, will they automatically refund it or do I need to chase them?
I think the answer is going to be ring them but maybe someone has had a similar thing!
Thanks in advance x

There have been several threads on here about EDF not completing the switch for both fuels on the same date and I think it is always the gas one that lags behind.
So possibly BG have not received the completion date yet.
As for the £50 credit, when BG get the final meter reading from EDF they will issue a final bill which will take account of gas used and payments made and result in a credit or debit amount. I do not know BG's method of recrediting you, it could be a cheque or putting oit back into your bank.
Edit: this was a recent thread

The refund should be made within 6 weeks of you receiving the final bill from BG.
Have you logged into your EDF account and checked the gas 'on supply' date?
It's invariably later than the electricity with EDF.No free lunch, and no free laptop
