CCS Advice

Signed up to CCS Advices services in August 2012 before the entry about this company was made on this site.
I have spent this evening researching in depth about scams around this subject. The information I have found is quite distressing.

Within the contract they say you can terminate the contract at anytime. I have contacted them to inform them I wish them to stop working on my behalf straight away and refund charges made to my credit card as soon as tomorrow.

I will post how easy or otherwise this proves to be. I have informed the credit card company on which the charges were made about my concerns.

CCS Advice stands for Credit Card Services Advice company offering to clear credit card debts for an up front fee of £495+10%+vat.

Warning information relating to this company was posted on this site 29th Sept 2012 after I had signed up for their services.

You have been scammed. No company can clear your credit card debts. There was a brief period way back when when it looked like it could be possible on a technicality, but this was shot down remarkably quickly. What they did (and still do, apparently) is tempt people saying that they could clear all their debts if they just pay them a relatively small fee. Greed takes over, the punter pays, the company can't clear the debts but they keep the fee anyway.

You have most likely lost your money for good. Sorry.

Probably a bit late now. You can terminate the contract at any time but does it say they will refund you anything you paid?

Im guessing you may have lost that £495.

CCS posts have been running since at least 2010... Back then it was Consumer Credit Services.

Same people, Or is this a different one?

I will say that CCS is an appalling name given the (probably deliberate) similarity to the free, non-profit, actually-likely-to-help-reduce-your-debts CCCS.
