Taking out different car insurance policies for different drivers

Hello

I will soon be getting my license back after a period of disqualification and am wondering what I should do about insurance. I want to get insured on my girlfriend's car, she is currently insured with Saga and is a named driver on her dad's policy.

Now because of my disqualification the insurance will be much higher than it would have been previously, I was initially thinking of getting myself added to the current policy, but would I be better off taking out my own entirely seperate policy with someone else, is this something I'm allowed to do? It would make sense to do so as it avoids hassle over payment, but is it likely to cost a lot more to do it?

Darren.

No you can't. Each car can only be insured on one policy.

You might want to consider waiting 5 years from your conviction date – that way you won’t be required to declare the disqualification/conviction.
