Kennel cough in the lakes, to walk or not to walk??

Come on holiday to the lakes with OH and 4 yr old active lab wispa. Got here mon, did a few miles. Done 8 miles today, wispa in and out of the water, and tonight she's been coughing. Eaten her tea and laid on the bed at the mo.

We took her to 'dog socialisation' class on Saturday at home on Saturday and some of the dogs had kennel cough so couldn't attend. Wispa has prob picked it up from there and come on today.

We're prob guna go home tomo as if we can't walk her there's little point staying, we can't leave her in the hotel during the day.

Just wondered, hoping, that she gets better over night and we're been over cautious.

    Management of kennel cough

The disease usually takes about five days from contact with the viruses and bacteria to the start of the cough. Once the cough is there it is important not to do anything to exacerbate it. Therefore avoid excitement, cause for barking and exercise, especially in cold morning air.

It is logical that every time the dog coughs it is producing an explosion of contagious particles into the air around it, so do not mix it with dogs who are not your own.

I would always take a dog suspected of having kennel cough to the vet. When you arrive at the surgery leave the dog in the car and wait until the vet calls you
