They plugged directly into TV, could try using a scart adapter, just in case the phono plug on tv in not working. Try a different cable if you have one.

Does your tv have component HD inputs (red, white, red, green, blue), if so may be able to try a component HD cable.

Been a while since i used mine, but I do think there is a setting where you can change to HD mode, has anyone changed it do you think. IF so, there is a way to reset the, but don't that myself.

Or it could the wii is faulty, hopefully not though.

  • I have red yellow white inputs - its possible kids could have played about with tv buttons - not sure how to sort that though!

The setting for HD is on the Wii. So in order to get it back, would require a reset.

Without trying the other alternatives first, hard to say if the Wii is broken or not.

It could be the cable. If your willing to buy a new one, may be worth a shot instead of just giving up on the wii.

If you know someone with a wii, try borrow a cable.

I am going to take my wii to friends and see if it works there or ask her if I can borrow her cable - not sure which is best option or whether that will give me a definitive answer - thanks for your suggestions ;)
