OH often goes for walks in the wilds and on those occasions when he's gone for a couple of days, he's had to be careful as he hasn't been able to charge his phone etc.
So, for Christmas I was thinking of getting him a solar charger....but can anyone give me any recommendations.
(gadgets that usually accompany him include his phone & gps but he has an ipad as well)

I and my bro-in-law have several different solar chargers - and they're all fairly useless, not really charging very much at all.
However, I now have two of these - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-Duracell-Rechargeable-Accu-Instant-USB-Charger-phone-charger-/271070998999?pt=UK_ConsumerElectronics_Batteries_SM&hash=item3f1d1731d7
Which will more or less charge my Samsung Galaxy S2 to about 75% charge from flat. You pre-charge them from a USB port and are small and light - ideal for hiking if you're only away a day or two.0 -
Powermonkey are decent solar charger for on the go.
But as said above, a cpl of power banks like the duracell or higher powered ones are good to take along as wellMansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0 -
Isn't it cheaper to buy a spare battery?
I have used these and found them as good if not better than the originals.
