B&D Cordless Drill Problem

I have a Black and Decker 18V Cordless Drill which worked ok last time I used it quite a few months ago. When I got it out of the box the it didnt work I assume the battery was flat.
I plugged it into the mains but it didnt charge. The light on the charger didnt light up. I left it for sometime to see if it had charged but it hadnt. Is there someway I can find out if it is a problem with the charger or the battery ?
I really like this drill and would like to get it working again. Does anyone know where I could get a new charger and/or battery for it if I need to ?

Actually no I didnt think it can be the fuse as I got the drill in USA and so there isnt a plug like we would have. Dont think there is a fues involved is there ?"The time is always right to do what is right"0 -
If you bought it in the USA, is it multi voltage or suitable for 230 volts?
The USA use 110 volts.
Maybe you have destroyed the transformer.0 -
Yeah I believe it is multi voltage so I expected it to be working...I think it maybe something wrong with the charger..."The time is always right to do what is right"0

I have a feeling that there may be a small fuse in the actual charger itself.
See if you can carefully dismantle the charger and check to see if there is one.
I had a UK spec B&D 18v cordless and the charger used to have a fuse in it.0 -
