ParkingEye Parking Charge Notice - Should I pay

Hello,

I have looked around the forum and found similar threads and the general theme is i should not pay the charge BUT I received my fine today and most threads regarding this topic are dated priory to 1st October 2012 when the law changed.

Along with my charge notice is a leaflet about the law change and the 'Protection Of freedom act 2012 - changes to private parking'

What i want to know is can fines of this nature still be ignored.

We have been fined because our car was in a Morrison's car park for longer than 2 hours.

    They are NOT fines!

The change in the law makes no difference if you are the registered keeper of the vehicle, you can still ignore as these invoices are unenforceable as ever. Parking Eye will not take you to court. You can go to popla if they turn a a bogus appeal if you were to go there, but there is no point for you to be honest as you don't appear to know the difference between a fine and an invoice from a private parking company. Sorry if I sound a bit harsh
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?
  • LoL, Thank you and your not being harsh, i do know the difference BUT i just wanted to put my girlfriends mind to rest, my word was not good enough for her :-(

Thanks once again for your input, much appreciated.

There are already a good lot of post law change threads. Did you miss them?

And no, the basics have not changed. Ignoring is still a very viable option. :)
