Changing University and Finance

My son got all his finance sorted out and started university. He then decided after 2 weeks to change to another university. He was accepted and started the course. He withdrew from the original one by filling in the appropriate form and the new university said they would sort the finance side. He has now had an email saying that he is going to be invoiced for the fees as student finance england has not been informed of the change. Will there be any problems with this as I have heard nightmare stories about having to pay the first year and so on. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Did he notify DFE that he was leaving the first course?0

Yes, he informed them and filled the COC forms in.0

Who did the email telling him about the fee invoice come from? Old uni, new uni or SFE?0

It came from the new uni, but I have spoken to them this morning and they are going to contact SFE and try and sort it out. Hopefully the panic may be over. Thanks0
