I've put the same data into 3 different comparison sites to find out the best energy tariff. They generally rank the best deals in the same order but the amount of savings vary considerably.
Eg. Which? comparison = £222.70 saving with EON tariff
Moneysupermarket = £431.16 saving with EON tariff
U Switch = £363 saving with EON tariff

I've double checked the input data and there are no errors.
Is there a reason for this that I'm not aware of. The outcomes of the comparisons will obviously affect my decision of whether to switch or not.
    Thanks
I signed up withj EON ealier this year, was told £86 would cover my bills going from my usage last year, with EDF which was also wrong
I have just received a letter from EON sayoing they are taking £265 DD from next month
I told the sales person i9 didnt think ity was enough,he insisted it would, + supposed to get so many hours free What a joke, i am fuming
That will take half my pension

'Sales person' sums up the situation.

They are on commission and will set the initial Direct Debit as low as it takes to get your custom!

So that doesn't sound like Eon are particularly good either.
We're rapidly running out of suppliers.

That being the case, I reckon go with the cheapest unless you have a specific reason not to :)

    31,669 kWh.....Over how many years !!!!

    Is this correct?

i've only used 8000 in last 12 months

    hi.
bagz is right on ! , you are useing 2 much gas , i used 12.000 ! ok its only a 2 bed bungalow !, but we are retired & the heating is in use for 18 hours a day & thats on a 12 year old boiler .
your condensate boiler should at a guess save or use 30% less gas than mine & just for the comparisson we used 2.500 elec units, are you sure you are on a metric meter?. and i am also looking around for a better deal , im not sure i will find one, i am with edf & trying to work out if its worth going with the blue deal fix untill 2015.

    .

How can you venture an opinion that the OP is using too much gas by using your below average consumption for comparison purposes.

A 3 storey Victorian semi with cellar could be absolutely huge(there are a couple of 8 bedroomed examples near me) and the OP could have 10 kids for all we know.

Also the Victorian building very probably doesn't have cavity walls, and the cellar creates problems with insulation.

They also might like the house warmer than you!

Under the Freedom of Information Act you can find out how much gas is used in No10 Downing Street. That is also likely to use more gas than you consume!! and it is only a terraced house.

Even with 5 bedrooms, 3 kids, no cavity for insulation, a love of the gas fire and living in the North (definitely colder?!) I've been shamed into giving our energy consumption a more serious review than I originally intended.

However, given the information I have provided for my property earlier do I really consume that much more energy than similar setups.

    Go on... pile it on..

Personally I don't think that gas consumption is excessive.
