Help with kitchen wall condensation

One of my kitchen walls has been damaged through condensation, paint peeled, mould etc. I have cleaned this up, but the wall is no longer smooth. Is it an option to put plasterboard over the offending patch, or does it need to be replastered first?
It is a small external wall with a small window, all condensation seems attracted there. Is there anyway to stop the wall being damaged in future (we are already ventilating)?

Hi, Is the wall a solid wall or cavity ?. Is it a wall free from units ?. A possibility would be to construct a timber stud wall in front of the damaged wall and insulate between the studs. A visqueen vapour barrier is then tacked to the stud (this stops the warm moisture air hitting the cold surface of the wall and condensating ) and then plasterboard and skim, Obviously this approach will take up some floorspace from your kitchen.0

Hi, it is a solid wall. Before we moved in, it used to be the doorway to the garden, but previous owner moved the door and replaced original with wall and window.
No cupboards, but dont think stud wall is an option due to location (in between two storage cupboards).0 -
Is it possible to install exterior insulation to the wall ?. A Government incentive starts soon called the Green Deal. An independant assessor would come to your property and carry out an assessment of your property and the way you heat it. They would then issue recomendations on how you could improve its performance. One recomendation is for difficult hard to heat homes having Solid walls could install interior or exterior wall insulation. The work is payed for by a loan on the property not the person and works on the basis that the money saved on your fuel bill is more than the payments made to the Finance provider.
