Slow Cooker - The Recipe Collection

Ok, not sure I have had what you could call a complete success, I think this is down to a couple of things, ie not quite enough sauce and probably cooking it a bit too long (I base this on the threads that I have read that say the MR 6.5l cooks a bit quicker than others).
Having said that it is still quite tasty and my eldest thinks its lovely and he is having the planned meal, my youngest two are having Chicken Pops and Pasta!
The major problem I have now, is that it seemed to cook quicker on one side than the other of the pan and I have some serious burnt on barbecue sauce (think burnt sugar). I soaked it for a little while with boiling water and a dishwasher tab and have now got it soaking with fairy and hot water. Any tips on how to clean it would be gratefully received.£2.00 Savers Club = £34.00 So Far

kazd - can't help re burnt on stuff, apart from elbow grease, but I'm sure someone else on here had a cooker that burnt on one side (elona? - whoever it was got it replaced directly from MR I believe). Keep an eye on it and try it again, cos it may be faulty. Mine doesn't cook noticeably hotter on one side than the other and I've never had anything burnt on0

I've also found the 6.5l cooks quicker than other models and I usually try to aim for around 6hrs on low instead of 8hrs and it's cooked nicely. Someone else on here mentioned having a problem with it burning on one side and she got it replaced (sorry, can't remember who it was now) but mine's been fine no problem and a quick wash out when I've done is all it needs
Just a thought, but have you got the pot centrally placed in the liner? ... I know there's a bit of room for manoeuvre in mine and I wonder if you maybe had the pot actually touching the liner at some point. See how you get on next time but as I said, MR were quite happy to exchange the other lady's cooker and said it was the first one that had appeared faulty!"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

It was me that was having the problem with it sticking and I am in the middle of the saga with Morphy Richards, yes they are supposed to be sending me a new one, they did send something but it was only a replacement crockpot wrapped up in a mile of bubble wrap, still it gave me a laugh and the kids something to play with for hours. I'm still awaiting the cooker and I must ring them again on Tuesday to find out where it is!Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

Mogins, can you point me in the direction of your post so that I can read up on what happened.
Thanks

Me and this search engine are having major differences of opinion so I'll have to type it again.
Basically I was having the problem where anything cooked with a thick sauce, bolognese or curry etc was sticking on the one side of the slow cooker, I found the Morphy Richards website and rang them up, I did buy the thing from Argos but having worked for them and knowing their customer service, I decided to go straight to the manufacturers. The customer service staff were lovely and promised to send me out a new slow cooker immediately.
Nice Morphy Richards box duly arrived but inside was just a replacement crockpot, laughing my socks off I rang them again, the girl apologised profusely, said they were waiting for stock which should be in by 13th March and they would send me another one. I'm still waiting so will call them again on Tuesday after the bank holiday.
The trouble is with every call they just tell me to keep/dispose of the cooker so I currently have one complete slow cooker, one spare crockpot and am awaiting another one shortly, I'm running out of room!
P.s. it seems to be fine with anything with plenty of thin liquid, it just doesn't like a thick sauce.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

Ok, if I can get this clean, I will try something else with a thick sauce and then give them a call. It was definately one sided though, the other side was fine and the beef was slap bang in the middle.£2.00 Savers Club = £34.00 So Far

Yep, it was one sided with mine too
I think it would be a really good idea if you rang them, I've heard loads of complaints on the net about this problem, yet when I rang apparently I was the first person who complained about it directly to them.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

Have you tried cooking with the new crockpot they sent you? Just wondering if there's a fault with that, maybe an uneven thickness of walls
If it does the same on that one, making sure you sit the pot centrally, then I should imagine the heat in the liner is dispersing unevenly. Does it feel hotter on one side than the other?"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"
