Motorbike insurance for self employed

Hi all
Newbie here, first post.
I've checked out the forum with a search, read the 'sticky' for this area. I'm getting a first bike for work, and the quotes look like they might not be too friendly to the self employed! As a fairly 'mature' rider and unlikely racer, I'm hoping for a decent quote, but self employment might count against me. It's also employment in the arts area, so not ideal...
Anyone with thoughts or experience here?

I'm with Carole Nash and haven't had any problems - try them - probably going to depend on the size/type of bike as well of course0 -
Hi, thanks for that. Carole Nash is one of the names that I've heard.
I've just been looking at a Suzuki Insurance site (Suzuki 125, nothing scary)- and it seems really to be a CN company!0 -
1st off. Enjoy the bike.
One thing you will learn is there are only 1 or 2 Ins co's in the bikeing world and you have to go through a broker to get to them.
All brokers are much of a muchness...
Just avoid MCE & Swinton.
NEVER PAY MONTHLY on bike ins.
If you are planning on taking your bike test (get in quick before reg change). make sure you ask if you will be able to change to a larger bike. As many 125 polcies are for 125's and have no ability to swop to a larger cc bike.
Oh and get yourself over to BCF for more biker related stuff.Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0 -
Adrian Flux could also help you as they do 'unusual' things like trikes etc but another vote for CN herejust in case you need to know:
HWTHMBO - He Who Thinks He Must Be Obeyed (gained a promotion, we got Civil Partnered Thank you Steinfeld and Keidan)
DS#1 - my twenty-five-year old son
DS#2 - my twenty -one son0 -
Thanks all for this info! Lots to be getting on with, there.0
