I wear hearing aids and have noticed the molds become dis-coloured with ear wax, is there any way of getting rid of this dis colouration please
. I clean them in water and mild detergent but it doesn't help

Have you asked the manufacturer?
I'd first try dilute hydrogen peroxide.
Well, I lie.
I'd just ignore it.0 -
This has happened to my son's moulds. I asked his audiologist and she told me that cleaning them in warm soapy water is the best way to keep them clean, but couldn't offer any advice to prevent or reverse discolouration.0

There's no sure-fire way of preventing discolouration. The more porous and softer the earmould, the quicker it will tend to go brown. On the other hand, if you have hard acrylic earmould, a good wipe with mild detergent is all that's needed.
Two years is a good rule of thumb for getting replacement earmoulds made, but a bit more frequently for those who produce excessive wax and for those who have "all soft" or "soft coated" earmoulds. NHS protocol is now 3-yearly replacement. Private suppliers will recommend replacement whenever necessary at one's annual review.0 -
I know we have a cleaning service in Cambridgeshire who will do it for you. they have special tools to get into the holes. Google hearing aid cleaning in your area.0

Is the problem less noticeable if you go for coloured moulds?
Mum's just had a new one, and the old one was pretty disgusting, IMO ...Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
It's just due to the material. Wash in warm soapy water to keep it clean but not change the colour. Ask for replacement moulds if they're bothering you.0
