Overchaged by Post Office?

Hi, Just a quick question before I go and complain next time I'm at the post office.
I sent a parcel out using Express 48 at the post office checked the parcelforce website and for the weight it should of been £10.50.
I posted multiple things at the same time and only noticed once I had left that they charged £12.60 for this. (there is not even a match for this amount on the price list)
My question is do the post office add there own costs onto the parcel force price? I might be missing something simple but cannot understand why it was that price.
Thanks!

You haven't been overcharged.
For some reason, the prices shown on the Royal Mail website are exclusive of VAT, so the price shown (£10.50) will become £12.60 when VAT of 20% is added on.

Thanks for your reply!
Thought it would be something simple I was missing, thanks for letting me know! should of used first class recorded would have been cheaper! Oh well I know for next time!0 -
I don't know how RM get away with showing the price exclusive of VAT.
Goods or services that are aimed at consumers must have the prices shown as VAT inclusive, and as the link I used to get to the price page was marked as "Personal Customers", I would have thought that this was clearly not aimed at businesses.0 -
Next time try parcel monkey or parcel2go or another courier, much cheaper at around £7-£90
