Hi,

Eon have changed their security questions, and when using the automated system, instead of asking for post code, they ask for date of birth.

Well, no matter which way I say it, or put it in using the key pad, it won't accept it!

I pay my bills with my debit card, and I had to pay by being put on hold, and waiting, which can take up to 14 minutes or more, to pay through the customer services.

I have complained, and apparently, other customers are having a problem with it and it is being looked into, but I reminded them that Eon have changed their phone number, and we are paying alot more than when on the old one.

I asked how exactly do they want the DOB numbers said, or put in, and was told, say :
06 - 07 - 67

Tried this several times, but no, it wasn't accepted, and the voice said I didn't know my date of birth!

    Hi Candy

I'm really sorry you've had problems using our automated phone service.

We're aware of the difficulties and our technical guys are working to fix the problem.

Don't know if this is of interest, but you can pay through our website using your debit card if you wish. This will save having to call in.

Although we've changed a lot of our phone numbers recently, in most cases, we've actually lowered the call costs.

At most, the new 0345 numbers are charged at local rates. Customers with all inclusive mobile call packages may even see no charges for phoning us. This is the same whether calling from a mobile or landline.

Hope this is of interest Candy. Give me a shout if you need any more info as will be happy to help.

    Thanks Malc :)

I'm pleased to hear something is being done, and also, yes, I will pay online then. Didn't know I could when I don't have an online account, but that's good news.

    No problem Candy.

That's right, you don't have to be registered with the website to pay online.

Just click on Your Account at the top of the first page and the payment option is at the top of the left hand menu.
