My desktop PC (Acer) is about 3 years old, never had an issue until now?
When I try to shut down (correctly) a blue screen appears and says 'you have not installed software correctly' this is a 'crash dump' then I'm taken to black screen asking me 'how do you wish to proceed'? I click 'start windows normally' then when PC restarts I can shut down without a problem? BTW I've not installed anything for months, if at all?
Any advice appreciated, thank you. Omnipeta.
PS the above 'quotes' may not be exact, I'm at work now and going by memory!

I'd suggest using system restore to revert back to an earlier date prior to you having problems. Also worth checking your anti virus is up to date, run a full scan and also consider running tdsskiller and malwarebytes just to be sure it wasn't caused by any malicious editing of your registry.0
