like summer pudding but with apples & pears (extra to replace plums & blackberries) & just leave out the butter & cook in a smidgeon of oil in place of it?
  • Thanks for the ideas everyone. Those all sound yummy. I've probably got too much choice now! I'll most likely try a couple of them.
    Cheers!

Will do! I think I'll try the stewed fruit with bread on top first and see how that goes. And I've found a couple of slightly wrinkly plums at the bottom of the fruit bowl so I'll bung them in too. Why not?!
    Wish me luck.

Edit: changed my mind and made the autumn pudding instead. It looks ok so I'll let you know later how it turns out.
  • Well we had some with tea last night and it was surprisingly good! Not bad for some soggy fruit and reduced bread! I'll probably try it again. Thanks again for everyone's help. I've still got a couple of apples so it might be pancakes and caramelised apples tonight.

That sounds lovely! I loved toffee apples as a kid - and this is the adult version!

Cook the apples and pears blitz in food processor and freeze into ice lolly moulds.
