in Credit cards
Hi, me back with silly questions agin, sorry!
About a montha go I applied for (and was successfull) in getting a Barlcaycard qith a 0% 23 months BT rate. Ive used this to clear my other card which was used in times of finacial hardship and am now comftably paying back the balance over the time I have before the BT ends. (if it matters, the card limit is £1750, balance transfer was £1100 + 2.8% fee, fee paid up front and £50 per month being paid over 22 months to clear the balance)
Basicly, i'm now looking at getting a cashback card for daily expenses, which I intend to pay off in full each month, am I likly to be successfull if I apply now or should I hold off? Also, I currently still have the original card that I used to take the BT from that im currently using as a purchase and pay off card, however there are no rewards attached to this card, should I stick with what I have for now? ot should I cancel the older card, and apply for a new one? or cancel the old card, wait and apply in 3-6 months? Again, if it matters I spend aproxminatly 200-300 a month on the card so a high limit isnt needed, i clear just over £1,100 a month after tax etc and my living costs are areound the £600 a month mark, so I have more than enough spare cash that I don't have to worry about not being able to afford to pay it all in full each month, so extortinate interest rates wont matter as I should in theory never pay them.
Regards
Paul

If it's not an urgent requirement then apply for it now and then consider your options if you get a rejection. One application is just one search and doesn't do much harm. You won't get a definitive answer on your likelihood of success so you're better off just biting the bullet and making an application IMO0

It's not urgent, I hope to never again get into the situation where the need for Credit is urgent! Lessons learnt the hard way etc! Would applying for one of the "easier to obtain" cards be worthwhile? Such as capital one? or am I just as likly to get accepted/rejected regardless of where I go?

Again, this is only my opinion and others may disagree but I would aim high first and then make one more application for an "easier to obtain" card if you get rejected. If you get knocked back on both, best to wait 6 months and better your credit file in the meantime before re-applying. If you get accepted but get less of a limit than you wanted, it may be worth applying for another card from a different lender straight away (before the first card's credit agreement appears on your credit report). The second lender will only see the search not the outcome0
