Was one of the best games I ever played in the 80s. Used to keep me amused for hours on end so chuffed to see he wants to make another with private donations.
That will be my good deed for the day when I find the place to donate some money too

Elite had a sequal... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frontier:_Elite_II
It had the most amazing intro sequence I'd ever seen (at that time)
There was also a third - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_Encounters0 -
Wasn't that the Amiga-based game with the space-ship thingy and the huge cheat?:wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:
Any posts are my opinion and only that. Please read at your own risk.0 -

meh Braben been talking about Elite 4 for the last decade, I think he's going after Duke Nukem forever's record of longest time in development.
Elite was impressive given the space that had to work with, they fitted whole galaxies into 120k, this web page is probably 10x the size.0 -

originally the game only had 22k of memory to play with.
(22k is smaller than the text in most EULA's you have to read through before installing current games!!!)Laters

I remember reading that with The Outsider (anyone remember that?) Frontier were working on an unnamed space trading game... and that was coming up to five years ago.0

The thing with Elite is, you can pretty much play it forever anyway. I've got a savegame that I started at school in about 1995 - it's going pretty well!Yes it's overwhelming, but what else can we do?
