Amazon orders

I have recently started selling on Amazon and wondered whether I will receive a mail notification from Amazon of a sale, or will I need to check my account daily ?

You will receive emails but it's a good thing to check your account daily. There are a lot of prominent notices which are not emailed, and they have the equivalent of the eBay dashboard on the home page from day 1 so you can easily spot any problems without having to go hunting for it.
I keep it open in a tab and refresh it when necessary."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4

Logged in this morning to find an order from 3/11. Have checked all my mail boxes including Spam but can't find a sales notification. It was showing Not Shipped in red, so I have mailed the buyer apologising and saying I will ship today by first class so they have it within the expected time slot.
Will I get a black mark for this ?You're only young once, but you can be immature forever

Amazon hold people to tight shipping deadlines, so maybe. The 3rd was Saturday and I don't normally ship at weekends, so it's possible it is a reminder rather than an actual black mark but at the same time they do have clear Estimated Ship Dates so it is best to log in to your account daily. I guess emails can go astray so I have never - for either eBay or Amazon - relied on them alone - I've always used the site console to conduct business, whether buying or selling.
I think it is two working days to ship, three days and a reminder and four days and you are penalised - that is how another poster here described the process a day or two ago.
Also note that you don't get the money credited to your account until the item is marked as dispatch."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4
