Questions about the Wii U

Hi, I am looking to pre-order a Wii U for my girlfriend for christmas, i have some questions i'd like to have answered before i do though if anyone can help?

Will nintendo stop making games for the older Wii once the new one is out?

I ask this because my girlfriend was happy to want the old wii as she really wanted mario kart, we asked in a HMV and the guy said nintendo have pretty much already stopped making a lot of titles for the older console and if you look in any shop the wii sections are now tiny.

I was guessing he was pretty much right, buy can anyone confirm that they will not make any more (or not many).

Also, i was looking to get the package that includes ZombieU, the game looks ok but it was mainly also for the pro gamepad.
what i'd like to know is will the game pad pro be fine as a 2nd gamepad for all wii u games, or would there be some games were the original wii motion controller or a 2nd new gamepad (i know they aren't for sale yet) would be better?

I doubt you will see many more if any first party Nintendo games for the Wii.

The Wii U will play Wii games but you won't be able to use the GC controllers to play MK anymore as I think they done away with the ports. It probably won't be long before they announce a Wii U MK game anyway.

It depends on the game. Some may use the second pad but I suspect more devs will look to use the old Wii Remote as in my opinion they will expect more people to stick to the one tablet controller that comes free with the console as I don't think extras will be cheap. Remember that originally Nintendo said that the console would only support one and only recently said two so the first round of games will likely be exclusively built for the Wii Remote as a second player.
