Has anyone had the same problem as me?
I have a Halifax c.c. the new months starts on the 4th of each month, unless a weekend then next working day, this month was the 5th, usually payments less than 2 days before goes onto next month, no longer in the past few months payments made up to the night before appear, I paid at a restaurant on the 4th at 9pm but it has appeared on the statement ending the 5th.
Obviously another 'money grabber'.:(

I don't quite understand the nature of your complaint.
Is it that you're upset that you made a purchase, and it was posted to your account the next day? What's the issue with that?0 -
I think they are complaining that there statement is produced on the 5th, and payments made on the 4th have showed up on it.
I don't see it as a big deal to be honest. If you want to exercise the 50+ days interest free credit then you are always going to purchase on your statement date, not before.0 -
Halifax used to give you a grace period of between the due date and the new bill being produced to get your payment, however, just last month we were all sent a change to the terms and conditions stating that that grace period would no longer apply. Therefore, it is now extra important to make sure that your payment clears by the statement due date.Sometimes it pays to read the bumf they send through the post! ;-)Got Halifax Classic to reduce my interest rate by 5% woohoo - 10/06/08 Thanks MSE!
Another 3% shaved off 10/12/08
ANOTHER 4 % June 09:beer:0 -

So you spent money on the 4th?
Statement is produced on the 5th?
Money spent on 4th appeared on statement dated 5th?
What is the problem?
How are they money grabbers?0
