I would just like some advice please, our son is 18 years old, and not in education and not working. As my husbands and mine asssets are more than the £16000, will this affect our son chance of getting JSA. I've tried to find the answer on direct gov without any luck. It just seems that as he lives with his parents (who have savings) he will be penalised, and that we are supposed to carry on supporting him out of our own pockets. Is this right or have i misread the information.
Any advice would be very much appreciated

Your capital does not affect your son's means testing.0

Thank you, i have a day off tomorrow, so we will pop down to the local job centre plus and see if we can arrange an interview.0

You can claim JSA online and they will phone you to book the appointment. The claim then starts at the online claim time."Our prime purpose in this life is to help others. And if you can't help them, at least don't hurt them." Dalai Lama0
