Natwest to launch Select Platinum Accounts

Just received an email (from an ad network, not Natwest):

So the excess on the insurance for an iPhone is now £100, yet was only £50 on the advantage gold...and the fee has gone up...

Seems a little odd. RBS get it later in the month. It seems you lose some benefits from Royalties Gold (home emergency most notably) and gain a couple of odd ones for an extra £3.05pm.

The phones no longer need registering for the insurance and the breakdown cover is better.

I quite like my Royalites gold account as it does seem good value, but to be honest, if my excess goes up to £100 for my iphone and I lose my home emergency cover, I'll probably cancel the account and go back to a normal account.

Royalties Gold is to be withdrawn. Benefits for existing subscribers to be reduced & Select Silver going up to £10pm.

It's costing the bank too much to operate the accounts apparently.
