    Hi,
New to the forum so please be gentle.
I have got myself into a real pickle. I have been in a DMP with Gregory Pennington since Feb 2013. In July my partner left me and took our children. I have had to take payday loans to cover costs and bills as I didn't have enough to pay without her contribution and now I have CSA costs.... things have spiralled again... GP left me with no disposable income and I'm concerned they will kick me off the DMP for taking further credit. I know I should have contacted them straight away but was again concerned they would stop my dmp as I wouldn't be able to pay the agreed amount.
    What do I do!?

Sorry youve had a bad year, the 1st thing I would say is look at your income and expenditure and do the debt remedy from stepchange (there are links in their replies best bet go back a few posts - useless as posting links), base the income expenditure on your current situation.

The other thing to remember at the moment, a % of what your paying out, is going in admin fees to the company whereas with stepchange every penny you pay them - every penny goes to the creditor.

Once youve done the debt rememdy -this will give a solution to the debts, take care xxxx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

    Hi,

Looking for a bit of advice, been in a dmp with payplan since Oct 2005 and have managed to clear all debts bar RBS. We took out a loan with them for £25,000 over 5 yrs back in May 2005. I spoke to 1 of their advisors in Nov 13 who stated that the total we owed them was £35,500 approx.
We have paid £21,000 thru payplan to RBS and have also had ppi of £15,500 paid to them, which means by my calculations that we've overpaid them by £1,500 but they state we still owe £6,000. When i queried this on 17/12/13 i was told by RBS that they couldn't have given me the figure of £35,500 even though they recorded the call and the advisor said it was noted on their system. In fact the advisor i spoke to the 2nd time said i must have badgered them into giving this figure. If this figure of £35,500 is wrong then it means that we will be paying RBS almost £42,000 for a £25,000 loan which works out at almost 70% in interest and fees.
The advisor on the 17th said she would set up a customer complaint and that they would contact me by phone or letter. I have a copy of their customer complaints leaflet which says they will make contact within 1 wk, Well guess what no contact from them.
Can i insist that they honour the original amount of £35,500 ?

Sorry about the length of this but i'm at my wits end with them.
    Thanks

Hi and thanks for your post.

I’d recommend you follow up your complaint.

If you’re then not happy with the reply you receive you can complain through the Financial Ombudsman http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/

    I hope this helps.

    Kind regards,

Hi, sorry I posted a thread on this before I read this one! I'll paste my awful predicament below...

First off, I'm an idiot. I went to StepChange a few months ago and had a massive weight lifted off my shoulders. However the weight of Christmas and some money I owed to a friend lured me, stupidly, into taking out payday loans to tide me over. It was a desperation move really because I have no way of repaying them (all of my disposable goes into my DMP!) and now in hindsight after doing some research I realise I've broken the terms of my DMP which I've only been on for 3 months. Will StepChange kick me off my DMP? What can I do? Help!!!!

Ring stepchange on Monday and explain what happened and see what they say, Christmas is a hard time, look at your budget, I know this is going to sound really daft but try to plan early for Christmas 2014, I do a Xmas thread on here, bargain hunting, tips, just search for Santas Challenge 2014, or click on my name and posts - your find a post there.

Hope you get it sorted ok xx

    Hi,

I need advice, my business rent for the next 3 months was due 25th dec and I so far have no money to pay. I have a coffee shop with a lease that runs until Sept 2015. I approached my landlord/spoke to a solicitor in sept to ask if I could assign my lease which they agreed to but they want me to pay all their legal fees and I have now waited since sept for a quote and no response (have sent and received several emails and made phone calls). I have since discovered by chance that my landlord is selling my shop via an auction. I need advice on what to say in an email to my landlord & what steps I should take. I have already filled in the Stepchange debt remedy and am in the middle of completing forms with local authority to claim housing allowance and council tax help and am writing to my credit card companies x4 to pay minimum payments for now. Really don't know what to do. If I lose shop I will be putting myself and my chef in a position of not having jobs. We keep the shop open 7 days but just not taking enough money as the town is so quiet.

Many Thanks if anyone out there can help Thanks
