Double Glazing and Doors: who to get quotes from

I don't really know where to start as I need quotes for replacing some windows ( currently non double glazed ) and door ( currently with daylight visible around the sides.

Bit wary of big companies having seen one sales man in action a number of years ago. Are any of them reasonable? Any ideas how I could locate honest reasonable double glazing companies? Is this the kind of thing smaller local companies may do? Again how to locate honest reasonable ones? I'm in Glasgow if anyone has any local recommendations.

I asked neighbours and colleagues for recommendations. In the end I used a local firm (not a one-man band) after getting a couple of quotes. They were completely no-sales-pressure, and didn't price differently according to the amount of work I was having done.

They were FENSA registered (not sure if this applies in Scotland) and their work was guaranteed by an insurance-backed guarantee.
