Moving boiler to kitchen

Hello
I live in a flat in South East London, and currently have gloworm non-condensing boiler in airing cupboard. Am having to move my boiler to the kitchen as new Gas Safe regulation state I would have to have hatches installed in my bedroom ceiling so that the flue can be checked for carbon monoxide, which I don't want as will not look very nice! Therefore I have been quoted the following for removing the boiler from cupboard and replacing it with condensing boiler in kitchen.
Here is the quote:
1. Relocate Glow worn flexicon 35cx combination boiler into kitchen
2. Install horizontal flue kit
3. Run pipework from kitchen and pick up heating circuit from bedroom radiator
4. Remove existing bioler and link all pipe work
5. Supply and fit 400w x 600h single panel radiator into existing boiler cupboard (this is optional)
6.Supply and fit Spirotec MB2 filter
7. Run new gas supply from meter in 28mm and 22mm boiler position
8. Run hot and cold supply to boiler from kitchen then through worktop
9.Run gas supply through worktop then under plinths to boiler position
10. Supply thermostatic valves on all radiators except where room stat is situated
11. Power flush heating pipework and protect with inhibitor
12. Supply and fit Honeywell wireless 7day programmer
13. 2 year Glow worm warranty included
14. Register boiler with Gas Safe
15. All waste will be removed
Total £2780 inc vat. Approx 3 days work
What do you think of the cost?

How do you get 2 years warranty on an existing boiler??
How far is it being moved??
Flow and return should be teed into under the floor on the 22mm pipework not at a radiator.
Why powerflush??
Gas safe registration costs £2.64.
Hatches should cost around £80 each and can be bought purpose made and look fine.0 -

How far is it being moved?? airing cupboard is at back of flat, kitchen at front- around 15ft
Flow and return should be teed into under the floor on the 22mm pipework not at a radiator. This was to avoid having pipework go around the bedroom to meet with the back of kitchen where boiler will be installed, as otherwise the bedroom floor will need to be taken up

Spend £2780 then.0 -
i was after some advice on whether the quote was reasonable for what I had asked for, not what others think is most aesthetically pleasing as it is subjective. no need to get stroppy!!
OP: check the title of this website. Generally people who post on here would advocate a money saving approach. Btw...get a couple more quotes and compare, then you'll have a better idea about what is reasonable for a job actually seen by RGIs.0 -
If the work is being done properly to the current standards, the quote sounds like it's in the right ball park. It's hard to say without seeing the job though. As has been suggested, get a couple more quotes and compare."There may be a legal obligation to obey, but there will be no moral obligation to obey. When it comes to history, it will be the people who broke the law for freedom that will be remembered and honoured." --Rt. Hon. Tony Benn0

Your floor will need to come up to do the job properly. The flow and returns need teeing into the existing 22mm flow and returns and NOT into a radiator. All dead legs will also need to be removed.
Dead legs on hot and cold feeds will also need removing.
Your flat is, according to you, 15' front to back. Unless it is about 500' long, your "plumber" has quoted you a boiler that is about 10kw over powered and has charged you accordingly. 24kw would be ample and would more than likely mean that 28mm wouldn't be needed.
He has also quoted you a Gloworm which are the sort of carp you see in rentals where the landlord wants something cheap that will work for a while. You need to be looking at Vaillant, Worcester, Intergas, Rehema, Veissmann, Atmos to name a few. Most of these will come with 5 to 7 years warranty depending on installer and manufacturers offers at the time.
Sentinel X800 will clean your system within an hour and is much kinder to your system pipework and components when used correctly.
You dont want a hatch in the ceiling because, in your opinion, it won't look very nice but you're happy to have pipework drilled through your worktops. That'll look lovely.
Finally, this is a MONEY SAVING website and is for people who are looking to try to SAVE money. Your best MONEY SAVING option is to install a hatch for £100 or so, but if you want to chuck getting on for three grand at a piece of poo boiler installed badly then crack on.
Hope that helps0
