I would say a 'comper' is someone who enters daily or at least several times a week. Someone who just enters once every few weeks/months is not really a comper! Now a 'comperholic' (like me) enters hundreds a day!!!!!!
:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea

Good points made, I have been comping for a year and estimate I have entered 36,000 plus competitions. I enjoy entering and looking at some facts I agree with the 1 prize per thousand entered.

I have won around 40 prizes in that time, anything from £10 to £650 not hard cash prizes more luxuries that I would not have had, and I am grateful for them all. To me it's something I can do from home and it's the thrill of a WEM or knock at the door.

It's not easy and not for the faint hearted.

Yeah 1 in a thousand - to most newer compers, that may seem rubbish,
but the National Lottery is 1 in 14million!!
Still comping, after 2 heart attacks 4th feb & 6th feb, and a stent put in.. 45 years old only:eek:

You can tell a true comper because they will develop 'compers elbow'. It's similar to tennis elbow, comes from too many hours spent at the flipping laptop. Now then, where can I win myself a support bandage and some Ralgex? :D

My doctor called it "Student's Elbow" when I went in with really painful elbows after I'd had a cold all weekend and caught up with comps instead of going out ;-)
