Hello!
With such a low income I'd try using whatever is on the Aldi Super Six offer. Make lots of soups to fill you up. (Remember just about anything can go in a soup!)
To fill you up for pud- crumbles, (add oats to mixture too. ) I make peach crumble (value tins.) served with value custard at about 12p a tin. A bowl of this and you have to lay down in a darkened room for two hours to recover!:D
Hope this helps.

I think you could do this more easily if you ate a largely vegetarian diet. As others have said, dried pulses are very cheap, and red lentils and pearl barley will make things like chilli and soups go much further.
For protein dried soya is very cheap in health food shops, though it is an aquired taste. Quorn fillets and suchlike are often on offer in Iceland and make reasonable chicken substitutes.

Putting rice or pasta into soups is an inexpensive way to make them into more of a heaty meal.
Hope this helps.0 -
Have you looked to see if there are any food banks in your area who may be able to help you out with some essentials to tide you over?0
