Buying 2 x iPod Touch 4th generation - best deals?

I am buying 2 x iPod Touch 4th generation for my 9 year old twins but am trying to get best deal. Amazon have 8Gb for around £132 and have looked at cashback sites but they hardly seem worth it for 1-3% cashback. Does anyone know where the best deals are to be had, or is Amazon the best bet? Also my husband is in RAF so not sure if we could get more money off using discounts?

Amazon could be the cheapest.
Check out http://www.rewardsforforces.co.uk/ may need to register to see who offers what.
Think currys do 7% but on vouchers only, so may be worth looking at.
Argos do about 6%. but i think on there store card, also they have offer on at moment, spend over 100 get £10 gift card, so could buy 1 touch and use card on 2nd purchase.Mansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0 -
I wouldn't buy the 4th Gen. Touch at all now as they run very slowly.
OK for music, perhaps, but not really for apps and the internet.I shot a vein in my neck and coughed up a Quaalude.

I am also after one, but not sure what the difference is between the 4th gen and the others? I know that I need it to be able to message and face time, does that make sense?
argos have them for £139.99 http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/5190252.htm
As usual technology stumps me!0 -
Absolute rubbish. My 4th gen runs as good as my 3rd, and as good as the 5th. If you fill it up with crap, then you get a crappy response. With any gadget. You also need to learn to turn off apps, and the player itself to maintain it properly. If it's slow and stodgy, give it an enema (aka restore it, and get rid of all the extra junk not needed)
5th gen is same size roughly height/length as the iphone 5. Having played with one, I found it unnaturally long, or fine long, but kinda crampy on it's width. Personal preference of course, 4th fits just right, 5th doesn't.
Basically very few offers on likes of apple products, but you could investigate the refurb section to save a few quid. But they'll be older models, still perfectly functional however.
Or clubcard vouchers if you can double up for that particular section (check to see first) or argos, get a tenner voucher to use on the 2nd, and have an extra tenner voucher after that (redeemable till end of month I think)0 -
Thanks for all the suggestions, would like to get newest model but not prepared to pay £250 each for them as sons only want to play stuff like Angry Birds etc and just want them off my iphone!£2 Savers Club #119 £150 Nov 12 :T

You may find some difficulty in buying a 5th gen anyway, I had a look in a few shops in Edinburgh last week, and none of them had had them in at all from launch.
Look either at places like cash converter or apple refurb, you'll save a wee bit that way.0 -

The 4th definitely doesn't run as fast as the 5th as it has an older processor, half the RAM etc. is over 2 years old.
Mine has slowed to an absolute crawl with very few apps on it, mainly music (54Gbs) and books, 2Gbs free - and that's not the reason, I scarcely ever even have wi-fi on - it's just old. It definitely was much faster before the 5, 6 and 6.1 updates. I'm selling it and buying the 5th, mainly because I still like iTunes.I shot a vein in my neck and coughed up a Quaalude.

John Lewis - I reserved the black/slate one.
Also, the 5th is the same width as the 4th, just longer, thinner and lighter. It has a much better screen than the 4th plus better battery life.I shot a vein in my neck and coughed up a Quaalude.

So 4th gen is not great?
My daughter mainly wants it for facetime (?!) and messaging, would it be ok for that?
The prices on Amazon seem to fluctuate by a pound or so over the course of the day weirdly.0 -

If you get camelizer it will tell you how the price has fluctuated (historic not real time) on a given Amazon product whilst viwewing it.
