Hi,
I urgently need help on deciding whether I should be cropping the photos I have taken on my digital camera before getting them developed.
I understand that digital photo sizes are different from the the physical sizes and I'm now concerned than they won't appear in the normal 6x4" or 7x5" photo sizes we are used to.
Can someone please advise?! I am using Picasa.
My photo resolutions are either: 2560x1920 or 1280x1024 or 800x600.
Thanks in advance!

Check what size they are before cropping and then resize them back to that after you have cropped them.0

No Nads, it is not necessary to crop your pics before handing them to your processors. I do it only if I have a wasted area that I want to eliminate. Just order the finished print size that you want and your processors will adjust accordingly, but they may need to crop one of the dimensions to get the proportions right.0

If you let the processors do the cropping, you may find they chop some small bit off that you don't want chopped off! It is better to crop your photo as you want it before passing to the developer. Just select the appropriate size in Picasa and crop away. Do not change the resolution, so that you are giving the developer the maximum quality to print.Charlie0
