Hey guys and girls, I probably won't be using this forum for anything but praise, anyway...
Just wanted to give some kudos to Boots Opticians. After not having an eye test since I was a kid, I decided to go as I was sure my vision was getting worse (worst fear: going blind!), obviously I was a little nervous at what news I'd be given.
The newly qualified optometrist was brilliant and very down to earth. I've seen a few horror stories about opticians on these forums but I couldn't have asked for better, turns out my left eye is rubbish at distance, so I'm ready to go back with my contact lens prescription, so thank you and well done, Boots Opticians! :T

That you actually work for them and are promoting your own company. That is from the more cynical posters out there !

Ooo err, well I AM in retail, but don't know if I'm allowed to say who! You never know who's spying out there...
Let's just say, not the most popular of high street chains, you might also find it in airports and train stations... but shh! ;D

Out of curiosity, how come you have a contact lens prescription without having an eye exam since childhood?

Whoever fitted you was breaking the law.

Perhaps they had the eye test and also had a test for contact lenses?

They may have got glasses first and are now looking at contacts too.

Not clear on here, so how can you give an opinion on it?

I have a prescription, I haven't yet had the lenses fitted!
