Cash back from Vendor through Estate Agent

My Vendor has agreed to return £2k as the result of work highlighted in the survey. The bank advisor had personal advised me to sort this myself (i.e. in cash or whatever). My solicitor not knowing about this got this on the offer as allowance but the bank solicitor has fired back saying this needs a whole new offer letter which means further delays etc...
I have asked my solicitor that I would like to sort this in cash. The big question is how do I trust that the vendor would return me the cash after the completion? Can I trust the Vendor and Estate agent?

You dont sort it outside of the contract as you done have the security of it actually happening.
Your solicitor is looking out for your interests, and doing it right. just wait for the new offerI am a Mortgage Adviser

Course you can trust them. IMO there is far too much distrust in this world and we should all have faith in people's good nature. It is after all scientifically proven that people who lie end up depressed, penniless and in many cases infertile.
Anyway, no-one ever got stitched up by an off-the-books bung did they.
Seriously, if avoiding delay is your primary concern why don't you just forget about the 2k and keep things simple0 -
Read the terms and conditions of your mortgage CAREFULLY, you could find yourself accused of mortgage fraud regardless of what you think the bank advisor said. Your solicitor is correct this should all be above board not a dodgy cash backhander.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0
