Morning All
Bright but chilly this morning so WM is on overtime so that I can get everything on the line to dry hopefully, if not it will be back to the launderette late this afternoon. I refuse to buy another TD, they are too expensive to run and DD was always using it for one or two items at a time  so when it conked out I refused to buy another.
DH will be home at 1pm because it is teacher training here, which is great because we are having a fireworks party tonight. We will watch the football club one from the back windows, and then have ours later. So dinner tonight is Jacket potatoes, chilli, hot dogs and burgers done on the BBQ and as DS and her BF love to do that, it means that I don't have to cook and it will be paper plates all round, so I don't have any washing up either :j
Uollypool, I hope that DS is feeling a bit better today ((((Hugs)))) x
Oh well onwards and upwards BFN xBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Morning :hello:
Got fed up with wading through the mud so we've put more sand down in the chicken run. The girls seem happier too.
I'm on the lookout for cheap fleeces. As soon as I put a dressing gown on, I go into snuggle mode and everything stopsI think leggings and fleeces would be better, I'd still feel dressed after my shower at night and will stop being quite so lazy. Probably.
I still have tomatoes in the greenhouses, not many but there's a few. We picked a handful of ripe toms a couple of days ago. I want to get in, clear them out and empty one of the compost bins into them. But I can't, just in case more ripen
Even though mr tru has had a pay rise, I'm getting meaner with the budget. He tends to think there's extra (which of course, there is) so he starts buying little things, eg. can't be bothered to take lunch to work so buys sandwiches and a drink. He always overspends so I'm telling him the budget is X, in reality it's Y. Then when he spends too much, he feels like he's had a treat and I'm happy in the knowledge that we're still on trackDon't see the point in extra money if it's just wasted, I want extra spends on holiday, money put by for work on the house that needs doing, a fund for a new washing machine if ours breaks, etc. I'd like him to get involved so keep trying to show him the spreadsheets and we could set a budget together but he says he's rubbish at it. That's rubbish in itself - he works with numbers and can quickly work out a flooring plan in his head. So if he can't be bothered, he'll have to accept that all the decisions are mine
Just filled the slow cooker with chicken and veg, it smells fab already. That's tea sorted for three or four daysBulletproof0 -
morning all!
Off to work this afternoon so pottering this morning.
Had a nice lazy start to the day - cuppa and a read in bed followed by a nice bubbly bath:)
Am waiting for the scrap man to come and collect DS1s car:( it's caput and too expensive to have repaired.
WM is on - looks like it might dry outdoors today:j
Going to make some fishcakes this morning as I have some fish chunks out of the freezer - cod and smoked haddock.
JackieO - glad your DD is home:)
(((hugs))) to those having a hard time x x x
take care all xDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Morning all, again many many thanks for all the support and kind words over the past few days , a special thanks to fb.
He is a lot calmer today,he has a drs appointment later this morning and then we are going to pop into the police station and see what they suggest regarding the fb printout and the text messages he recieved . His course lecturer has said she will do some investigating to get the ball rolling at that end. The boy who has really stepped up the homophobic bullying I think will definately be booted out of uni as apparently last year he was given a warning when someone accused him of being homophobic towards them. We are going to go upto the house and collect his stuff this week as he has said thet the boy previously mentioned comes from quite a rough thuggish type of family and he simply wouldn't feel safe there and would constantly be watching his back. On a brighter note we are going to look round a local uni on Friday who does the same course as he has been doing so fingers crossed he will be able to start there in sept 2013.
Not much OS has happened over the weekend so blitzing the bombsite is to commence. Will be having cottage pie tonight , washing and drying to be done, but must walk woofer first and he has only just decided to roll out of his pit the lazy s od;)
Will update later on any progress made. Again thanks for all the support .Paul Walker , in my dreams;)0 -
uolypool Glad you are getting things sorted. ((((((((((HUGS))))))))))
JackieO Glad your DD is home. Wish I'd been on her plane! I have loved Donny since 1972! Have met him a couple of times. Marie is here too. They are promoting their tour. I am not going, as Brighton is the nearest one, and I can't go alone. The tickets cost between £40 and £75 each, and I just can't afford them. Will have to wait for the DVD!I Believe in saving money!!!:T

Uolypool, will your son be out of pocket due to this? I know he will lose the rent on the house but will it cause problems with student finance etc?
The reason I am asking is that my DD had to take a year out of uni due to personal circumstances and while she is ok for an extra year student finance as you are allowed 4 full years, it now means that she will not qualify for finance in her sandwich year and will have to fund that herself.
In the circumstances, I would hope that the original uni should be able to help with this. I do hope you can get all of this sorted, I am still absolutely appalled at the way he has been treated. Morning all,
was up bright and early this morning. Hubby was up and out the door at 5 and the dogs got me up soon after. I changed my pillow to something not quite so soft and fluffy on Friday and i have slept solidly ever since. I would hate to estimate at the cost of the money ive spent on pillows over the last 12 months trying to find the perfect one.
Well considering there is supposed to be a recession you wouldnt believe it from the bonfire celebrations round my area. I have never known so many beautiful fireworks lighting up the sky. The sky was full of them after darkness fell all weekend. Out of both the front and back bedrooms i was spoiled for choice. I dont ever remember being the bonfire weekend being so popular! It was a clear night too and i could see for miles! I must admit, i'm not keen on bangers (waste of time if you ask me) but i love fireworks...... as for wearing goggles.... I'd take my chances thanks.:rotfl:I look forward to seeing what tonight has to offer and the best part about it is. I will be lovely and warm, unlike the poor souls braving the elements.:D
Ive got as far as cleaning up after the dogs and ive cleaned the kitchen floor but thats as far as ive got yet which is a bit embarressing considering ive been out of bed for hours.

Morning,
Lovely day here but very cold.Leo only had a short walk as he slipped on our kitchen tiles and has pulled something last night.I ended up sleeping downstairsas I didnt think he'd manage the stairs, but after he'd been out twice, last time 4 o clock,he went up,so I went too.Bit dodgy coming back down this morning,I was behind and DH in front, but he wanted to go for his walk.I'll keep an eye on him today, and he's had some Metacam.
Uolypool- glad DS is happier today, there are some horrible people about
Jackie-glad DD is back safe.
Julie-lovely dress.
DH & DS1 are at home, they cant start their next job until tomorrow so its a paperwork day.DGD is coming tonight and staying over as her Mum and Nanna are at a funeral tomorrow, though DS will be at his night school course till about 9.30.She has a horrible cough and kept waking up on Saturday-hope its a bit better.
Right better examine the iron mountain and see what we can have for tea.Have good days all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Hi all
Back from Mr T's, spent all my vouchers & for DGD we got, 4 polo shirts, 2 prs school trousers, 2 prs pyjama's, 4 prs tights & a pair of slippers. For DGS we got 2 prs school trousers, 2 polo shirts, 1 pr welly's, 1 pr trainers, 2 prs pyjama's.
It didn't look a lot, but DD's over the moon, I've already given them hats & gloves so they are all sorted for a while now.

Hi all
This post may take a while, as my paws are deffo not co-operating today....
Tiglath it must be a nightmare trying to feed people who all want different meals... I get Mr LW to help me do the meal plan, so he gets some input right at the start, but it's on the understanding that it's subject to change if I'm not well enough to prepare a complicated meal and that's what's listed for that day. It seems to work for us.:o
JackieO I bet you're over the moon to have DD back safely on our shores!:T Do I have it correct, she's having an op shortly? If so, my very best wishes for her.:o
Hoppy Birdday to craigywv's sister.
Uolypool more posi-vibes for DS.:o
Rosyred oh, poor Leo; sending him pain-free vibes.:o
Dylan's “helped” me hang out the washing, which took me a whole half hour to do, as my shoulders as so bad today.:( Dylan kindly made a deposit of the doggy variety on the back grass, so that I could bend down (to clear it up after him) after all the stretching upwards.:D
Thankfully, Dylan's so totally laid-back that the fireworks don't bother him at all; as long as his meals are on time (06:00 and 18:00), he gets to go outside when he needs to, and gets loads of cuddles and the occasional game with his ball, he's a happy boy. I'll put his harness on him after lunch, and take hm for a little amble up the road, for a change of scenery.;) He doesn't want to walk far these days, and I've been asked to not walk him so much that he starts panting (vet's advice apparently, due to his age) so up as far as the local poo-bin is probably enough.:DIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0
