OS Monday 5th November

Options
Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 5th Nov. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning all - it's been a hectic week having Mum stay and DH off on halfterm. I got so fed-up trying to please everyone foodwise that I declared yesterday a pub lunch day, and we went to a Harvester.

Increasing my working hours to 6-hour stints this week, although the neck and arm pain is back. Also have to have another bloodtest for my thyroid.

The freezers are full so it'll be something simple like lamb, mash & peas tonight. No point trying for an early night with all the fireworks.

Have a good day everyone :)

    Morning Tiglath and everyone else,

Slept well last night. I was going to have a "duvet day" but Buddy the cat had other ideas, which is why I am up:rotfl:

Weather is supposed to be good today, so I will try and put some more daffs in.

Smoked haddock for tea. Got some mash left from weekend, maybe I'll make a small fish pie for myself.:T

Lewes Bonfire tonight. They are telling people to wear eye goggles as they had five injuries last year with people throwing fireworks

    Have a good day all!

Good Morning all DD has landed safe and sound and I have spoken to her ,she is popping in tonight to see me. I am so pleased she is home OK Apparently Donny Osmond was on their plane last night and she said it made her feel quite old as he was looking a bit 'crinkly' (her words ):):)
I have smallest DGS to look after today and tomorrow as his school has an inset day so I will be thinking of things to amuse him.Not hard as he is a very easy little boy to look after.I may sort out a DVD for us to watch this afternoon as the weather is looking a bit chilly.Must fly as I am in desperate need of caffeine
Cheers chums and have a good and safe day if your having fireworks tonight
    Cheers JackieO xx

Hubby's been dropped at work with his packup, he had egg on toast for breakfast, DW on & fish fed.
I going out with DD2 for a spending spree, I doubled up my tesco vouchers & we have £80 to spend on clothes for her kids. She is short of school uniform so we will stock up on that.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

    Morning everyone

Hugs to those that need/want them that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x

Dry and bright start to the day here, but rather chilly too. DH up and off to work stupid early.

Lunch yesterday was roast beef, did all the trimmings, I enjoyed but DH moaned it was too rare, but then proceeded to polish off a second helping!? Cheescake was delish too, still feeling full this morning! Didn't really do much yesterday afternoon, just chilled, and had a soak in the bath (where I promptly feel asleep), didn't realise I was so tired - still having nights where I sleep really well and then others where I toss and turn and end up having to get up otherwise I would wake DH. Going to try to get back into a habit of going to bed at a more regular time. Will also be paying a bit more attention to my portion sizes and what food I'm eating as want to loose a bit more weight before Xmas - as it just gives me a bit more of a buffer over the festive period and then my birthday which follows quickly after.

Back to work today, possibly it will be a manic Monday as it's the first Monday of the month etc! It does make the day go quicker though. Boys back to school and both were awake and ready to get up by the time I'd got out of the shower! (Think they're actually ready to go back).

Dinner tonight will be sausages and mash, veg and onion gravy.

Have a great day everyone, stay safe and well x
