Boosting your printer ink

As a bit of a tight a!se and finding ways to save money, I thought I'd see how much extra I could get from my " empty " ink cartridge.
About 2 weeks ago the usual" empty cartridge " warning came up on my Lexmark x2480 printer, being frugal (another word for skinflint!) I ignored this warning and to date have printed approx. 45 extra sheets of coloured and black and white documents, whereas in the past I've changed the cartridge straight away.
So my advice would be to ignore the warning and change the ink when it finally does need changing!!!!
Now where did I throw those empty cartridges??????????????

what is left in the cartridge and the warning lights appear to have no connection what so ever , i think it's just a rough guide0

I've heard that you can typically have about 1/3 of your ink left when you first get a "warning"."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Similar with laser printers. When they tell you that you have run out of toner or the printing is not as good as usual, take the toner cartridge out and give it a good shake (beware of your clothing though)

You've just given me flashbacks to a technician I used to know who was such a pennypincher that he sometimes spent about half an hour shaking toner cartridges just to get out an extra sheet or two. Probably wasn't the most economical use of his time."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

:rotfl: :rotfl: I wouldn't be quite that bad but I know our big Hewlett Packard laser in work gets about another 100-200 sheets after you shake the cartridgesuperscaper wrote: »You've just given me flashbacks to a technician I used to know who was such a pennypincher that he sometimes spent about half an hour shaking toner cartridges just to get out an extra sheet or two.
