    Indeed cheaper, however, I'm not sure where that is either! - I've researched and asked about it on Trip Advisor, to no avail. It seems a 'low key family resort' is the way to go - still some action but not used by the hardcore who go to Val D'Isire (sp?) and others.

    What about Bulgaria? They have ski resorts so should have snow and would be cheaper than the Alpine resorts.

    You might find somewhere on the edge of a ski area that is snowy but the slopes are in accessible, it wouldn't be a resort though.
    This is one of those google maps tasks where you just have to look around and research yourself though.

    Aviemore is quite nice... Silverglades do a lovely bungalow with 4 rooms sauna etc

    There's reindeers there and a wildlife park ... Coylumnbridge hotel has a good family bit ... Lovely pine forest just a few miles away
  • How about Andorra? My friend went skiing there (which i know your not fussed about) and said it was ultra cheap to get to and cheap when you are there! :)

    If you book a sat-sat package, there's nothing to stop you making your own way home earlier on the Thurs or Fri.

    Mse thoughts cheap flights ryanair or germanwings
    Eg stanstead to Perugia Italy , hill town may be snowy
    26 th dec to 1st jan under £100 I think
    Accommodation look at Perugia agriturism eg farmhouses

    Or if you haven't already, check out London to germanywith skyscanner, and Gogol there don't know enough about snow to advise which places are best
