Grouting metalized tiles ?

I want to grout my kitchen tiling which are metalized tiles. The standard tub of Uni-bond grout says it's not to be used for metal detailed tiles. What should I use?

If I try a test on some spare tiles and it didn't work, B&Q wouldn't accept the tubs return; cost £8.95.

Anybody got any experience of grouting metalised tiles?

From past experience,I'm not confident of getting a correct information from B&Q.

Your info appreciated.

All I can say is read the small print and / or the manufacturer's instruction on any product you think of using.

Try ringing Weber on 0870 333 0070 for their advice. They supply grout to tiling shops and are usually very helpful. This number should be cheaper 01525 718877

What a great suggestion. Have you read my OP? It reads:-

"The standard tub of Uni-bond grout says it's not to be used for metal detailed tiles".

The Uni-bond tub didn't actually talk to me when I stated "it says". I read it.

The box of tiles are described as metalized tiles , there is no comment on the box regarding which grout to use. The Unibond grout doesn't define metal detailed tiles when stating the grout is not suitable for such an application. Therefore my query is 'metalised' and 'metal detailed' the same thing.

I was going to ask if you work in B&Q but on second thoughts, I don't want to insult their staff. lol's

No, I was just randomly guessing the answer.

Wonder why you bought it then? Can you only read outside in the daylight and couldn't read the instructions inside the B&Q?

Tile manufacturers hardly ever suggest adhesives or grout makes.

You could ask Unibond what they mean, it's their product. Take the telephone directory outside in the daylight......
I was going to ask if you work in B&Q ......
I was turned down by B&Q. I was over-qualified, too intelligent and knowledgeable.
.....but on second thoughts, I don't want to insult their staff. lol's
If ever you do want to insult B&Q's staff, I suggest you try your technical knowledge. Should make for an interesting low-level conflict.
