Diamond car insurance...

Options
My car insurance reached renewal so I did my usual shopping around, I was previously with admiral but the cheapest I found was diamond. After quoting my reference to diamond and being transferred a few times I finally reached someone to set up the policy for me, I was completely shocked that all she went through was my name dob claims and then payment method! I wasn't told the usual blurb you get with insurances, anything about cancellation rights which I thought was strange! Then I have received policy documents to find I'm not with diamond I'm still with admiral.... And to make matters worse there's an extra £150 excess because of my age which I wasn't told about!

Has anyone else had this before? I'm thinking of cancelling but have paid up full so unsure where I stand....

No reason for them to tell you. When you goto the supermarket they dont tell you all their groups of companies.

    B&Q = Screwfix
Curry's = Dixons = PC World, And many more.
Home shopping groups many catalogues one address.

If upto you to do the homework. Google would have told you.

If you have paid in full and your renewel has not yet stated you should be able to get a full refund.
I think you have 14 days after the start date also to cancel the policy as long as you haven't made a claim.

    Thanks

And I thought with insurance being regulated they had to tell you companies associated, along with details of the FSA?

  • Got a really good quote form Diamond and happy with cover but a bit annoyed that they didn't tell me about the £5.95 charge for paying in full with credit card until the last minute.

Also noted that monthly payment has horrendous APR compared to say Sheila's Wheels.
