What used car should I get?

for £2500 at the most.?
Don't care too much about looks, must have 5 doors ,must have 5 seats, nice, safe, reliable,cheap insurance family type car.
Any suggestions?

Mondeo is the class leader or Focus if you fancy something a bit smaller.

I'd say a Ford Focus. Its all of the things you want in a car and you can probably pick up a Y reg model for £2500.

I'd definitely buy a VW or a vag group car. No problems with my 2nd hand passat 7 years on. Now 8 and got 167500 on clock, still purring sweetly (even if it does sound like a taxi) - oh and did I mention 50mpg?

Another vote for Ford (Mondeo or Focus) - vastly under-rated (lack of "badge street-cred"), and heaps of ex-fleet motors available.

Focus is a safe bet. Not as expensive as a VW and a better car to drive.
