Nokia N72 accessory for photos

Options
I have a Nokia N72 mobile phone. Yes, I know it's old but it still works a treat unlike my Canon digital camera which has just died (RIP!!). I have never used the camera facility on the phone but am now considering doing so instead of buying another camera as I take very few photos. Presumably I will need an accessory to transfer any photos onto my Dell laptop. I have looked on-line but am totally confused and do not know what to order. Please can anyone advise me what to buy as I do not want to order the wrong thing. Your help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Look on ebay for N72 data cable, around £3.

Usual caveats apply as with everything on ebay. :)

One end into the phone and the other into usb on your laptop. You should get bing/bong and it *should* show up as a removable drive.

  • Have you still got the box with the accesories in? It would have come with a cable to connect it to your PC. If you haven't kept the cable you can buy one for £1.29 delivered on ebay! Ebay item number 280819153338

You'll then need to download the Nokia software (free on the Nokia site): http://www.nokia.com/gb-en/support/product/nokia-suite/

Thank you for your help. No idea where the box is after all these years but will take a trip to Ebay. I'm very grateful to you both.

    Perhaps the N72 is special?
My Nokia manages perfectly well without installing all that bloat, it shows up as a removable drive.

I've just ordered the cable from Ebay. £1.29 with free delivery. What a result! Thank you all so much. Don't know what you all mean by removable drive but it sounds impressive!

    Amazing isn't it. :p

Just try using it with just the cable. It should work without downloading/using the Nokia Suite, as I said my Nokia manages fine without it. Nokia Suite just adds un-necessary rubbish on your laptop.
