Excel Telemedia Target Thread

Actually they are logical and you are not. When they say you must be on the phone for 30% of your time they mean your call hold figures. So if you get a caller who is only with you for two minutes you are useless - in their eyes. They want staff who can make that call last a lot longer or they have wasted money on that advertising. It is normal practice to log off people and not want people who take other calls while on duty - with all phone line work whether psychic or sex. It !!!!!!s up their computer and loses them calls and money. The truth is that if you are on the phone and they lose some calls or if you cannot turn the calls you get into long calls YOU are costing THEM. They will not want you at all. They usually have a computer that registers how long you were on the phone to a client for so if it was only a short call you then go to the back of the queue for the next call and the person who recently kept someone on the phone a long time gets that next call. They are there to make money and they invest a lot to do it. You are not investing any money at all.0

Hi,
I'd just like to clarify a few points here if I may. I've been a PSO for many years and used to work for Excel a few years ago. When they talk about % they mean total percentage of chat time not call hold time as Samantha Butt suggests. So it's not about the length of the call at all. They want you to be talking for a minimum of 35% of the time you have been logged on to receive calls no matter what the duration of each call. Yes I did say 35% because they put the target up from 30% without warning. They measure the average hold time separately.
The other point Samantha Butt seems to be confused about is when the previous poster mentions threats of terminated contracts due to missed calls. Darcysangel is referring to being on a WORK call when the system tries to put another WORK call through, not on a PRIVATE call. Excels operating system has been plagued with glitches for years, which often means an op can be on one call to a customer when the system tries to put other calls through. This registers as an engaged call and if 3 of these occur the Operator is cut off the system without warning and can sit there waiting for the next call not knowing she's no longer logged on, thus missing revenue. Enough of these calls which are NOT HER FAULT and she gets threatened with termination for poor performance. Not fair to the caller trying to get through, or the Op who is trying her best, but faces losing her income due to system glitches beyond her control. It's been happening for years but Excel just say there's nothing they can do about it.

Seems they're not recruiting at the moment
Anyone know of any other legitimate sites like this which employ people for text chat?
They are recruiting again! I called up the office, they are quite helpful and there are slots for the PSO side of thing. I started with excel three months ago and I find them great to work for.
I filled out the form on their website and I was sent a form in post
After my application and audition I was on the service in little over a week. you do need a landline in order to work.
If you work during the early hours and get a good long call you can earn almost 9 quid for an hour on a call, this is a bonus for a single mum of 3 at stuck at home.
The job does take special person and not any old joe soap can do it really, but personally i find it good fun and excel run a professional show.
I heard they give Op's training even, has anyone taken part?
