Well done sexyshark! You do realise that ALL the carbon monoxide will now have left your body don't you? Isn't that terrific? It only take a couple of days.

The cravings will lessen, don't worry about that. You are doing terrific. Take sips of water, walk around the block, pain your nails, do a crossword, tidy out a drawer .... anything, just don't think about smoking and keep busy. :T:T

    Hi,
It does get easier and I found it best ti take it day by day.
I told myself that I was not smoking only because I chose not to and that I could start up again any time I wanted.
To make it a bit easier, 'cos I am tight, I had a goldfush bowl into which I put the money I had saved!!!
    Cheers

  • Get up, walk around - even hum Happy Birthday To You twice over - and that can help it go.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

I have no idea about the cravings but just wanted to say well done. A friend of mine has recently given up and I saw how difficult it was. I like the idea of putting all the money you are saving in a bowl, that would be a great incentive. Oh and you will definitely smell a lot nicer now :j

  • ((((hugs)))) ....... day 23 here ........ went cold turkey (emergency hospital admission) so the first few days were easy in a way and have been struggling a lot more since I got home last week (trying to avoid usual triggers for when I'd have one)

Keeping track of the costs in my sig ...... not as much as some as was on rollies (£2.50 / day) when I think it would've been £7 / day if I'd bought proper sigs .... but it still adds up!

Keep it up - there's a good support thread on the DFW boards with really supportive people at hand - will post a link in a mo ETA https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3969171

Very soon! Try other things to occupy you like a cup of herbal tea when you would usually smoke, do a sudoku or puzzle, paint your nails, take a bath. Distraction works I swear :)
eta: You might not fancy it but try doing a quick burst of exercise to distract and tire yourself out when you crave and you're at home. 20 jumping jacks, 10 squats, 20 crunches and 10 "girly" press ups will take a couple of minutes, repeat it when you feel up to it and it will also help your post-smoking fitness. First thing in the morning, when you get in from work, before a shower etc
