Renault Megane Central locking question!

When I bought my car privately the seller did not have the central locking key that you press the button on to open the doors. Only the one that you use to unlock the drivers door which then automatically unlocks the rest of the doors.
The drivers door lock is now knackered and I now have to go in the passenger side to open the door all the time. This is a real pain in the you know what!
I have seen the automatic keys for sale on ebay and wondered if it was worth buying one. Will it work with my car or will it have to be re-programmed?
Is that expensive to have done or is there a moneysaving tip on how to get this done cheaply?
Any advice appreciated.

Sorry I can't help with your query but I also own a Renault and am a member of a Renault Forum which I find very useful indeed. There are a lot of people on there with very good knowledge.

Also there is a guy saying he can sell me info on how to programme it myself for £1.00
