The general advice given on these forums is to avoid these companies like the plague.

If you advertise on Gumtree or Loot or similar with "quick sale wanted, cash buyer preferred, you'll get alsorts of interest. There are others out there that may be a little more reputable than these companies.
Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.

    Short answers, "No" and "No."

Pricing to sell is all that really matters, or go the auction route. :)

time is money as the saying goes. the quicker you need to sell, then generally the lower the price you must accept.

the advice on here is avoid these companies. just price sensibly (given your timescales) and go with an EA. If you have a very short timeframe, then consider an auction.

  • Even if you want to sell fast it can be worth speaking to a few local estate agents first. If they are good they can suggest a few ways to get the property sold quickly - for instance by holding an open day and getting lots of potential buyers to see your property in one day.

Don't do it! They will gazunder you right when you have committed costs and are ready to move to make an extra £10-20k out of you. You'll be worse off than just taking it to auction or a real estate agent and saying you want to price it to sell

You'd be better off knocking a clear 50% off the price first. You'd end up with more at the end. These companies are sharks and they will gouge you for all they can get away with. They are barely legal and there are plenty of warnings out there and horror stories to make your hair curl.

    Run, dont look back.

    According to this article:

    http://blogs.mirror.co.uk/investigations/2011/04/gateway-homes-franchise-left-m.html

Gateway Homes, the company mentioned by the BBC, "typically offer less than 80% of a property's value as a cash sum".

The BBC article suggests that they then drop the price even further at the last minute.

    just price it to sell,
you will be better off in the end, and if anything is priced to sell and a little more off, it will sell fast, i know a friend where houses were selling in his street for 140k, there were 4 for sale including his, and he dropped it to 115k sold it the next week, the others have taken them off but one has been dropping his slowly so is chasing down the market, and IMO wil not get the 115k my friend did a couple of years ago
