ford car radio question

Hi,
I have replaced my RDS 5000 Eon radio in my Focus with the same, although it is the same model No the socket configuration on the rear is different.
The original unit allows control for volume and cd from switches mounted a a stalk on the steering column, the replacement albeit the same model number does not have the same size socket to take the loom plug. my Question is it adaptable, does anyone know on what pins on the radio socket I can hard wire the stalk control wire's to?
