Wall Tiling Quote

Hi, as part of our kitchen refurbishment we need to have some tiles fitted.
We will be supplying the tiles which are metro style measuring 15 x 7.5cm each. The area to be covered is 46.5cm high x 6.9metres long around three walls of the kitchen. There is a window on one wall so the tiles will not be so high but will be on the walls in the inset and the window ledge. Finally, the tiles will be used as a splash back behind the hob so this will be 80 cm wide x 45cm additional height in that section.
The tile shop advise we buy 4m2 of tiles to allow for wastage. The existing tiles will have been removed already.
We have been quoted £300 which includes adhesive, grout and edging trims - does this seem reasonable please. We are based near Ely, Cambridgeshire.
Thanks very much.

Seems a *little* on the high side but it can be quite intricate with that kind of work so it may roughly right. he's likely to be forgetting the actual area and working on a 1.5 day job (one to fix, next day to grout and finish off).
Not sure what your paying for the tiles but if your not buying them online your likely to be paying too much for them. pm or email me if you'd like a quote including delivery.0 -
Thanks TPT, that is very helpful.
We are looking to get them online but are just awaiting samples. I will drop you a PM when we have decided.
Thanks again!0 -
Spoke to guy today and he says work will take two days. I am hoping that is because he is good at it!0

sounds about right if its intricate. kitchens really can be - plug sockets (should be dropped forward while tiling), windows etc all take time to cut around. he's better off plodding for 2 days than rushing for one.0

Just so long as you don't pay until you are happy all should be fine;)I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
Thank you both very much for the replies. I am a perfectionist so would much prefer slow but accurate!0
